Open Letter to Indian Cricket Team

Subject : Indian Cricket Team’s Performance in Australia

Well done India for your great performance in the last year’s ODI World Cup and bringing us the cup after a long 28 years. You are real Tigers on home soil. I cannot continue the praising further after looking at your recent performances on the foriegn grounds especially in non sub-continents.

A White wash on England’s soil was somewhat releaved by a revenge White wash on home soil. Do we need to wait for such a white wash on home soil to Australia? Yes, looking at your performance in the first 2 test matches against Australia in the current series it surely won’t be a surprise for us to see a white wash soon. We ‘hope’ you won’t do that and bounce back like the way we call you – Tigers.

Gambhir’s come back innings of 83 in the second test’s second innings is a bit of relief after 3 consecutive duds. We expect Sehwag to stand for atleast 30 overs in the crease and turn the good starts to 3 digit figures. Not sure why he is shy of the crease and leaving to dressing room soon.

Dravid’s legendary innings is yet to come in this series and can become the difference between loosing and winning. Sachin’s 100th 100 became one of the most talked topic from an year only next to the ‘Kolaveri De’.

Lakshman and Kohli became the target of critics this time. The Very Very Special (VVS) Lakshman who used to treat the Australia and their soil as his birthday cake is struggling this time. His slow movement in the crease made him get out by catches behind the wickets (keeper and slip catches). It is time for you to wash your face before taking the guard. Kohli, one of the most consistent players from the past 2 years for Indian cricket team failed miserably in this series. ‘We are not machines. Don’t expect to perform all the times’, was your tweet reply for the critics. What else can I talk about you then?

M S Dhoni, the captain with golden hand is the first target for his captaincy in the series. Your bowling changes were very average. Bringing Sehwag for bowling at a stage when the pressure was required and fielding positions became the hot points.

Enough preaching for the day. We don’t expect you to win every time. All that we need is a better battle from you. It will be a cracking game against Australia this weekend. Pull up the socks. Keep the energy tight. Go and Play to your Best.

India wins 3rd ODI Vs NewZealand in a row to win the 5 ODI series 3-0 with 2 matches to spare.

The current Indian skipper Gautham Gambhir has scored his consecutive century with the in form Virat Kohli to outplay the black caps. India won by 9 wikets here with 10.3 overs remaining while chasing an easy target of 225 runs. India has started very confidently and no where Gambhir has let the run rate went down six an hour. He was affluent at his shots all around the ground. He was remained unbeaten till the end.

Virat Kohli joined him after Murali Vijay was dismissed after a decent innings to speed the process. Kohli finished off the things with a four and two sixes.

NewZealand has struggled alot in the intial overs and the run rate was too low to put a highest target at the end.

Gambhir is the 8th Indian to score consecutive ODI centuries.

This is the 9th consecutive loss for NewZealand, the worst ever in their history.

James Franklin and Nathan McCullum are the only players who made a decent scores of 72 & 43 respectively to put a decent score for their side. While Zaheer Khan, Yusuf Pathan and Ravichandran Aswin took two wickets each, Munaf patel took one wicket to contribute to the victory.

Gautham Gambhir has scored a blistering unbeaten 126 runs from 117 balls with 16 fours. Virat Kohli scored a classy 63 runs from 70 deliveries with 6 fours and 2 sixes.

No NewZealand bowler could take a single wicket as the only wicket that fell down Murali Vijay was run out by their skipper Daniel Vettori.

Believe it or not, our beloved Prime Minister Manmohan Singh don’t know the full form of IPL and the rules of the game too. He has no good idea about what IPL is till Lalit Modi has generated the controversy.

The Prime Minister was on a trip to Washington and the crisis managers managed the situation to be decided only after the PM’s return.

Singh after returning from the foreign trip asked “What is the full form of IPL?” Rajiv Shukla has spend considerable time explaining the PM and gave him the full details about the cricketainment and war that was going on.

The rest of the story is know to the whole world.

While the Mumbai is looking dangerous with players like Sachin, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and Pollard, Chennai looks even more hard to beat with Dhoni, Murali Vijay, Hayden and Muralidharan. IPL final is going to be a very interesting encounter after a close look at all the previous matches.

While Mumbai have scored a massive score of 184 in their semi finals, Chennai could make it only 140 plus runs on their board. Thanks to Chennai for defending their low score and make their team in to the final encounter.

Who will be the real King in IPL Final?

With the T20 World cup 2010 starting in very few days, this will be a testing time for the captaincy of Dhoni. It can add a lot of confidence to his captaincy if he takes the IPL cup along with him.

“We have lost the first IPL finals in the last over. Hope we do not repeat the same”, Muralidharan said.

“The IPL final would be just handling the pressure”, experts opinion.

While both the teams have an almost equal level players, whoever handles the pressure more the more chances to win the match.

In any case, the IPL cup goes to an Indian leading team for this time. To remind you, first IPL was won by Rajasthan Royals led by Shane Warne (Australia) and the second one by Deccan Chargers lead by Adam Gilchrist (Australia).

Fun time for all Indians!!
